I have to agree with some of the other reviewers. The book started off a little bumpy, but it smoothed out as it went on. In fact, I really got into it, and I don't even read these kind of stories much. But the finish.....or should I say, What finish? There wasn't one. If you want to find out what happened, you have to buy the next book! What? Sorry, but that feels like blackmail to me. A good series does not rely on cliffhangers to lead the reader to the next book. Each book in the series should have a satisfying ending, but with a story and characters that make you want to read more about them. Think 50 Shades of Gray, or Harry Potter. Each book could stand on its own, but put together, they make a great tale!Please try again, but let us have some satisfaction at the end. Otherwise, I won't be a return reader.

I'm actually not sure if I really liked this book or not. I wanted it to end and was unhappy to see there are store. It not bad and the writing was ok, but the sex scenes were way overdone. Really they didn't need to be as descriptive as they were and how they were. I almost felt like I was reading a bad recency pornography novel ( yes I know their is no such thing but if you can imagine it) lol really they could have been sandwich better and still relayed the same thing. I also felt we should have a bit more info instead of the feeling of being just dropped in a place you know nothing about and have to hope it explained somewhere along the way. Silos just didn't really feel a whole lot for either of them. Why should we like this girl? Where the heck has she been if her mom died and she goes to her grandmother's for a day and then what? What happened to her and who the bell is this guy and why was he helping her grandmother? I know now what he as doing but why? And well there are way to many questions for a first book to have not had some answers by now. It just didn't sit well with me and reading some of this book was well... uncomfortable for some reason. So as much as I hate not knowing what's going to happen ( although we all know she will be saved somehow and will save .the race and the guy or he saves her, I mean come on its not going to end sad) so I guess it's just not good enough for me to keep reading. You may like it though, but wasn't my cuppa at all.
A friend recommended this book to me. I typically read romance and paranormal. She did not offer any description other than that I would love it.
I was totally blown away. This storyline was incredible. I find it rare that you find a fully realized paranormal story in a romance and a romance in a fully flushed out world of a paranormal book. This book accomplishes both amazingly.
Connal was an incredible character. I loved the fact that he is described as being not your typical pretty boy romance of romance novels. His character is tormented, powerful, flawed, and still incredibly hot.
Ash was fully developed into a multidimensional character. She had a full history. She didn't just fall into this world like a helpless female. She was strong, willful and smart.
The other characters all have a unique part to play. There were many points of view shifts, sometimes making it hard to understand at first. When I slowed down, I could see that they were all necessary and important tell the story through each character. The descriptions for some scenes were cumbersome. After several chapters and getting into the rhythm of the authors' style, I found it all came together very nicely and was left hitting the next button on my kindle, no wanting the story to end.
I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book of the Becoming Series.
I dont know about the rest of you but Im a huge Irish loving person meaning I love irish and celtic mythology and the whole culture. So when i read the short description that I Love Vampire Novels had on this I was hooked .I loved the characters as well as the character dynamics that were in the story. Ashling was one of the girls who just drew you in to love her as she first started out as some traumatized girl then grew in the same book to be a girl with some bite and back bone, Connal who was the main guy and hero of the story made you swoon over him with his pirate looks going against the typical Irish guy look with his dreads, his personality cause come on who doesnt love it when you hear an Irish guy bring out the dirty talk and the brogue and with him feeling bad for his actions but still wanting to stick it to the goddess.
In the beginning your taken to Ireland with Ash as she discovers her grandma to be ill and from there her whole world slowly starts to peel away as she slowly discovers the truth of whats real. I cant say much about it without giving away any spoilers. But this book to me has it all, Romance, Steamy sexual moments, Hot Irish Guys, Myth and Paranomal. Not only does it add Irish Mythology to it but it gives a whole new twist to werewolves and what their bite can do just making you want to get bitten by one. What makes this book also really great is both of the authors are from Ireland themselves so when they right about places, myth and culture of Ireland they know what they are talking about.
So I would reccomend this book to anyone even those who would only be slightly interested.
